CASE STUDY
Website Design for Britannia Mobility
Designing a website for Britannia Mobility and Bathing Aids was a project I never expected. I had gone with my partner to arrange the sale of a car to my would-be client who had responded to the car ad on the Facebook marketplace. While chatting with the client, he mentioned that he runs a business and needed a website to promote his products. Of course, I told him I build websites and promptly gave him my business card. That same night, he sent me a mail to design a new website. The client wanted a website that is responsive and optimized across desktop and mobile devices. He got exactly what he wanted.

Main Challenge: The Hosting Platform
The main challenge I encountered was when the client decided to keep his existing hosting platform. It was difficult starting and running the website on the platform, whose performance across all levels we couldn’t vouch for. It was a huge challenge building the site with high-level security and performance, which are the main priorities at Website Designers 4U. However, my technical expertise about servers helped surmount the challenges.

Web Design for Stairlifts & Bathing Aids
The Home Page
The approach was to use to compelling CTA “Curved or Straight Stairlifts – Regain your freedom” placed near a rich brown-coloured stairlift that complements the website perfectly. I also used other CTA buttons, which are well positioned to ensure zero distractions to visitors.

Stairlifts and Bathing Aids
I utilised drop-down menus for these pages where visitors can navigate through the different types of stairlifts and bathing aids. Each type has its own page with the image enclosed in a circle against a fading image of a butterfly perching on a flower acting as the background.
Mobility Scooters
I implemented a two-column layout for the different scooters on this page. A column contains the description of the scooter, while the second column displays the image. This allows visitors to easily view the images as they read the descriptions.
Contact Us Page
Here, the white CTA on a blue background is difficult to miss. I also utilised different layouts and colours to ensure the company’s address and phone number stands out. The ‘Request a Contact” section, though simple, also compels visitors to send messages. Visitors are also provided with the option of contacting the company through social media platforms of Facebook, twitter, Google plus and feeds.

Mobile & Desktop Versions
The aim was to build a website responsive across desktop and mobile without compromising UX and UI. It is important to achieve this as responsive websites are vital to retaining customers as well as driving in and converting new ones. The only noticeable difference is the use of the hamburger menu which is absent on the web version. Other differences were in the layout of the designs and contents.
THE RESULT
A competitive website that is perfect for its sector and looks beautiful in any device or screen size!
